For Those Who Remember

The Association of Retired Police Officers is an organization of retired sworn police officers who served with the Nassau County Police Department or sworn police officers who were members of a Village or City police department or other police department located within the confines of Nassau County, New York.  Don Ramme, a retired member of the Nassau County Police Department was the prime organizer and first president of the organization, having started the organization in organization October 27, 1983 with 17  members.  Since that time, the organization has grown to almost 2000 members.

The association (ARPO) meets on the second Wednesday of each month at 7:30 PM at the offices of the Nassau County Police Benevolent Association, located at 89 E. Jericho Turnpike, Mineola, NY.

If you are a retired police officer from the Nassau County Police Department or from any one of the 25 village , city or other police departments located within the confines of Nassau County and would like to join our organization, click on the link for an application. When you get the application, please fill it out and mail it with a check for $20 made out to ARPO, 89 E. Jericho Tpke., Mineola, NY 11501-0442

HR218 Firearms Qualifications

ARPO sponsors discounted HR218 Firearms qualifications for ARPO members ($40 for one gun, $75 for two guns) twice a year, the first Saturday in May and the first Saturday in October. All classes are held at the Nassau County Rifle and Pistol Range in Uniondale at the Mitchel Field Sports Complex. The classes are given under the direction of Safety Quest, Ltd. There is also a discount for those who want to take the NYS Security Training Course. A laminated phot ID will be issued upon successful complition will be issued.  If you are interested in attending any of these send an e-mail to ARPONCPD@gmail.com

HR218 Firearms Qualifications Given By The SCPD

For Resident Retired Police Officers:  Please remember that only Suffolk County resident – retired police officers are eligible for this.
To schedule a date/ time please call 631 852-8063.  No shorts on the range. Cost is $37 cash.  A paper certificate with particular firearm used will be issued.
